1.
Fuse Floriani Dream Weave to the back of the two pieces of Silk Dupioni. This will protect the fabric when you begin embroidering.

*Tip! Use a Teflon press sheet to protect your iron's surface and to ensure the best fuse.

*Tip! If you do not have teflon pressing sheet use parchment paper.!
2. Place one piece of Floriani Perfect Stick in the embroidery frame, paper side up. Score the protective paper to expose the sticky surface.

*Tip! Use a straight tip pin to draw an "X" on the surface to perforate the paper and then it will peel back easily.
3. Center the Silk Dupioni and stick it onto the surface of the stabilizer (the Dream Weave will actually be touching the sticky surface) and smooth out any wrinkles. *Tip! Use a marking pen on pencil to put centering marks on your silk before sticking it down if you need help with positioning.
4.
Place the embroidery frame on the machine. Using the centering and layout feature on your machine center the embroider design from left to right. The bottom of the embroidery design needs to stitch about 2" from the bottom of the silk.
5. Once your machine has traced the area where the design will stitch and you are satisfied with the placement, place one layer of Floriani Heat N Gone on the surface of the silk. This will keep your stitching uniform and perfect! Secure the edges of the film with tape over each corner to prevent the presser foot from moving it. Begin embroidering the free Floriani Lace Wreath.

6. Once the embroidery is complete, remove all the stabilizers from the fabric per the directions on the packaging.
CONSTRUCTION OF THE BAG

1.

Lay one layer of netting over the right side of the silk. The top edges should be even, pin into place (There should be two inches of netting hanging over the bottom edge of the silk.)

*Note: This picture does not portray the accurate length of netting. It should hang two inches off the bottom once aligned at the top.
2. Using your serger, stitch a narrow hem across the top. Repeat on the second piece of silk.
3. Lay the silk/netting pieces out flat and place them together, right side to right side. (silk to silk, netting to netting) Pin the pieces together leaving the bottom of the netting open. Serge the two pieces together using a narrow hem. Leave the bottom of the netting open for turning.
4. Turn the bag right side out through the bottom of the netting.
5. Serge across the bottom of the netting to close it.
6. Once you have the bag turned, press the silk for a nice crisp finish. Be sure to use a press cloth! Once the pressing is complete, stuff the netting down into the silk leaving 1.5" of netting sticking out across the top of the silk.

7.

Finish the bag by placing your gift inside and tying a decorative ribbon or beads around the top to secure it! Enjoy
